RandChat Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 28, 2026 | Effective Date: September 28, 2026
1. Scope and Age Requirement
Welcome to RandChat ("we", "our", or "the platform"). We take your personal privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how your technical information is processed when you use our web service.
This platform is strictly intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you must immediately exit and discontinue using this website.
2. Data We Process
RandChat operates without account creation. We do not solicit or store your real name, government ID numbers, personal phone numbers, or residential addresses. The information we process is strictly technical and minimal:
- Network Diagnostics & Metadata: When you connect via HTTP or WebSocket, standard server logs automatically record your IP address, browser type (User-Agent), timestamps, and error traces. Your IP is used strictly to infer general geographic tags for display and to enforce rate limiting against automated spam bots.
- Ephemeral Session Tokens (Local Storage): To facilitate quick reconnections after brief network drops, lightweight tokens are stored in your browser's local storage. These are client-side only and never cross-tracked across unrelated domains.
- In-flight Messages and Media: Messages and compressed images sent during your sessions are processed in server memory to route to your peer and checked against our anti-abuse filters.
3. Cookies and Third-Party Advertising Disclosure (AdSense)
To maintain our free public infrastructure, we partner with third-party digital advertising networks such as Google AdSense. In compliance with Google publisher guidelines:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
We do not transmit Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to ad networks in ad calls.
